I spent some time playing with images. Using Creative Commons in Flickr I found some social networking tags and saved them to my computer. Then used the site Bighugelabs to create a photo mosaic from the tags.

Working with images
Another task to be completed was to work with images. I already had a Flickr account which I have used to share photos with family and friends but did not choose to make this public. I did add a photo through the Web 2 Learning Space by clicking on the 'Photos' tab and then selecting the 'Add photo' option. But I want to do some further work with images.
View the Blog
Although I had created the blog, I realised that I had not linked it within my Web 2 learning space. I was not sure exactly how to do this but noticed that others had simply added the URL as a title so opted for this option. Now I can see the link and others can too.
I'd like to create another blog when I have the time as I feel I have learned so much already and can see where I could do things differently. This will be a future project!

Couple of notes
Just a couple of notes I forgot to document:
1) Learning Space was set up through Ning
2) The image I used to create the 'Route 23' flashing logo was created using Imagechef

Blogging
After much deliberation I have decided to create my very first blog. I registered with Google blogger ... well tried to register and was reminded that I had already registered at some time in the past .... clearly another fumbling attempt I had made previously but had fallen short of the objective. However I sent off a request for a password reminder and once received, embarked on setting up the blog. It wasn't so difficult after all particularly as there is a short video explaining step-by-step how to begin. Now begins 'route 23' ... well almost, the URL had had already been used so I have ended up with Tah! Dah! ..... http://marian-route23.blogspot.com/
Wonder what I'll be able to make of this 'thing'?

Add Comment
Next step was easy, simply adding a comment to a post another member had added to the Learning Space. The only problem of course was that someone had to initially past a comment. Fortunately by the time I had registered some wonderful comments had already been posted with a great discussion on tagging and some amazing suggestions for applications to experiment with including BigHugeLabs and Image Chef. So much out there (or is it in here?) it's easy to get lost and end up in a time warp!!
First Steps
The first stop on the map was to register with the Web 2.0 Learning Space, a community of learners embarking on the "23 Things" professional development course.
Sounds easy, but each time I tried to register, the registration screen appeared for approximately 2 seconds before disappearing. Fortunately a quick email to the group facilitator solved the problem and the issues surrounding this minor glitch were resolved and registration could be completed.
Once on board, I was surprised how many had joined the group. We are clearly at various skills levels .... this is certainly going to be interesting.
